I'm Musa Sibuyi, a software developer with 8+ years of experience across .NET, SQL Server, workflow platforms and Flutter. Today I work on National Treasury's eTenders platform. Before that I built business processes and integrations for banks, universities, insurers and retailers.

About

Enterprise systems by day, community apps by night.

I like the unglamorous problems: a SQL Server pinned at 100% CPU, a form that has to match an SBD 4 annexure line for line, a workflow that has to talk to three finance systems at once.

I spend a lot of time with clients before I write code. Running requirement workshops, designing the database and process flows, and taking a system through UAT and go-live are as much a part of my work as the build itself. I've worked in Agile and Waterfall teams, led development on client projects, and mentored junior developers.

I also run Grace Technology Group, where I take on software, consulting and data work for South African clients, and build my own Flutter apps for local markets.

eTenders

National Treasury's platform for creating, bidding on and awarding government tenders in one transparent place.

  • Repaired the supplier bidding process and refactored slow paths to cut downtime. Brought the database back from CPU spikes near 100% with indexing, MAXDOP tuning, N+1 removal and AsNoTracking.
  • Built a Central Supplier Database (CSD) integration so suppliers pick the company they're bidding with instead of typing it in.
  • Added audit logging, contract creation and an improved award process, plus electronic bid submission with SBD forms rebuilt for the web and PDF output.
  • Provide production support with the CSD and ICT teams at National Treasury.

Services SETA website

Web systems for the Services SETA, the Sector Education and Training Authority for the services sector, used by employers to manage skills-development submissions.

  • Worked on the Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report (WSP/ATR) submission flow, including fixing the submission-button logic.
  • Debugged cascading address dropdowns so captured details survive validation round-trips.

Short-course management system

A rebuild of the university's short-course operations, replacing a CRM-based system with K2 and connecting it to the finance, learning and web systems around it.

  • Designed and built K2 workflows that integrate with Great Plains (finance) and BI360 (reporting and budgeting), and APIs for Blackboard.
  • Ran requirement workshops, designed the interface, led UAT and managed releases from development through QA to production.

A crowdsourced map that helps people find South African street vendors and informal workers, the businesses that rarely show up on mainstream maps.

  • Designed the Firestore data model and security rules for user-submitted pins.
  • Tracked down a Firebase auth-state race that froze the pin detail screen on load.
  • Produced the logo, Play Store assets and a POPIA-compliant data-deletion page.

  • Built eight screens, from the voice library and recording flow to a voice-clone wizard and profile.
  • Local storage on a Drift/SQLite schema, with state in Riverpod, navigation through GoRouter and ElevenLabs as the voice service.

Encrypted OAuth secrets at rest, tightened how OAuth tokens are tied to users, added per-item permissions for service instances, and replaced detailed errors with correlation IDs for anonymous users.
